Midnight Forest Coloring Book
Midnight Forest Coloring Book is published by Creative Haven and illustrated by Lindsey Boylan.   It follows the format of most Creative Haven coloring books.   It has a soft cover which shows a colored image from the book. On the inside and back cover you will also find colored images from the book.  The book is A4 size and measures approximately 27.5 cm x 21cm. Creative Haven always prints on single sided paper that is perforated for easy removal.
The selling point with Midnight Forest is that all of the 31 illustrations are all printed on a black background. If you dislike doing backgrounds or you love the look of a black background then this is a great book for you to consider.
The title page of the book contains a cute small illustration.  I always love the title page to test out my mediums on. Sadly, the title page does not have the promised black background which has been used for the illustrations proper in the book.
The paper in the book is quite thin.  If you are not removing the perforated pages then I would place some paper in between the pages to avoid bleed through.    The line work is black and very crisp on the illustrations. The line weight on the whole is a medium weight with only a few illustrations with finer lines.   Due to the bold, black lines this book would be suitable for those that have issues seeing tiny details and lines on coloring books.
The illustrations feature cute forest animals.  Most of the animals have some form of pattern on them together with background imagery often of leaves, flowers and forestry.

The illustrations vary in complexity.   There are some illustrations that have larger blank areas to be filled with color, whilst others have a number of tiny details.   I am not a fan of fiddly bits in coloring books but this book is well within my range of what I enjoy coloring.
