The Wizard of Oz Coloring Book- Nikki Wright & L Frank Baum

The Wizard of Oz and Alice In Wonderland have to be two of my favorite fairy tales. I love both of them so much.

The book measures 24.5 cm x 24.5cm. It has a beautiful printed cover.

Previously, I have reviewed a lot of Alice in Wonderland books. One book was illustrated by Australian artist, Nikki Wright.

Nikki has again dived into the world of fairy tales and created a new coloring book for the Wizard of Oz. This is based on the same style as her previous Alice in Wonderland coloring book.

This is what I call an “heirloom book”. It contains both the story and drawings to color in. I could imagine coloring the book and giving it to a family, or a small child to enjoy and treasure.

Colorists may prefer a book more rich in pictures without the story. I actually like a bit of both. But, I am biased, because this is one of my favorite stories 🙂

The paper whilst good quality, is thin. I would test your wet mediums out unobtrusively on the title page of the book before coloring the remainder. Often I am surprised how good thin paper is with wet mediums as long as you have a blotter between pages.

The Wizard of Oz Coloring Book Video Review

As you can see from the pictures and the video flip through below there is a lot of story interspersed in the book.    Make sure you have a look at the video review before buying as some colorists may prefer a more image based book.

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.
