Tir Na Nollag Coloring Book Video Review

I hope you enjoyed the video review of  Tir Na Nollag  by Ebony Rainn.

Tir Na Nollag Coloring Book  Review

This cute and whimsical Christmas themed coloring book by Ebony Rainn has an unusual title of Tir Na Nollag.     The name basically translates from the Irish to Country Christmas.      It is packed full of adorably sweet images that you could imagine as fabric ornaments, tin ornaments or baked into gingerbread and hung from a tree.

Cover & Layout

Tir Na Nollag  coloring book measures 8.5 in x 11 in and is A4 sized.

The glossy cover art features an illustration from the book which has been partially colored.    Due to the glossiness of the soft cover you would not be able to color the line art.     Luckily, the cover art has been included in the book for you to color in.

The back cover features line art of an image from within the book against a lovely teal background.     This is the same background color used for the spine which features title and artist name in white text.

There are no surprises with the content in this coloring book as the cover art indicates the type and style of art contained within the book.

Ancillary Pages

Other than two blank pages at the rear of the book there are no ancillary pages.    These blanks would be a great spot to test out your markers and any other mediums.

All of the illustrations have been presented on one page within the book.    This means that colorists can use whatever medium they wish to color the art in.   Make sure  to pop a few pieces of paper behind the image you are coloring to ensure that there is no bleed through.

Art work has been orientated portrait style throughout.

Colorists can enjoy coloring the 40 images with either a white background or a repeat of the same images with a black background.       This makes it a great book to color with different color palettes for yourself or to share with someone else.

The paper is white, trade stock quality paper.

The art work in  Tir Na Nollag is adorably sweet and whimsical.    You will find a partridge in a pear tree, cute owls and reindeer, angels and Christmas trees.     The whimsical theme runs throughout the coloring book.

Colorists that have visual impairment will love the larger spaced images to color in and the black backgrounds which makes the line art more distinctive and easier to see.

If you enjoy coloring background effects then you will be pleased that the option of using the image of a white background is available.   If you dislike backgrounds then the black backgrounds that are pre printed will raise a smile.

The line art is black and crisp and a medium weight with some detail in a finer weight.

All of the illustrations have been centered and positioned well on the page for ease of coloring.    Some of the drawings with a white background have a border around them, the bulk do not.

One thing that I found confusing with the book, was that the images were not presented in the same order as the white backgrounds for the black background section.     It does not affect my enjoyment of the book, just something I found rather odd.

About the author

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.
