Sagolikt Coloring Book Review

Sagolikt is by talented Swedish illustrator Emelie Lidehall Oberg. It is one of the most beautiful books that I have in my collection. The name Sagolikt translates to Fabulous in English. This adult coloring book has been correctly named because it is truly fabulous.

The book measures approximatley 25cm x 25cm and has a card cover with a pre printed pastel design. There is a lovely printed image on the inside and back covers together with a small fold out flap. The paper is white, not bright white and is very good quality. It has a lovely smooth feel to it. The title page at the beginning of the book is decorated with a lovely piece of bunting spelling out the name of the book. This would be a great spot to test out your wet mediums to see if you have any bleed through.

Inside the book you will find that the illustrations are fabulous! I love this book – can you tell? 🙂 <3

Sagolikt Coloring Book

The nameplate page is a full page decorated with lovely florals, berries and the like topped with a crown. The illustrations for the balance of the book are presented on both sides of the paper 🙁 This is a shame, as the images consist of designs for a single page not double page spreads. However, when the artwork is as gorgeous as this you can be forgiving.

Sagolikt Coloring Book

The fabulous coloring book illustrations include cute bunnies, deer and gingerbread houses amongst other things. There is an element of a fairy tale about the book and it is truly captivating. The illustrations are well outlined in black and the line work is crisp, clear and easy to see. A small negative, is that some of the images, primarily on the right hand side of the book run into the spine. This is usually a difficult area to color in. Most of the images on the left side of the book, however, avoid the spine area of the book.
