Colour Me Mindful – Tropical
Colour Me Mindful – Tropical – Anastasia Catris
This smallish adult colouring book by Illustrator, Anastasia Catris has a Tropical theme. The book has a card cover with some line work that you could colour in. I would suggest alcohol markers as the cover is quite waxy. The book measures approximately 17cm x 17cm. I find that this is a great size for carrying in my handbag to the local coffee shop with a few gel pens or pencils.
The illustrations are all printed on white good quality paper. The usual caveat regarding markers applies. Always test on one of the forward pages before diving into the art work to ensure that there is no bleed through. The illustrations are printed on both sides of the paper and that is a negative for me. It makes re-purposing your art difficult as well as limiting the selection of mediums used.
There are some fun images of surfboards on the sand as well as the usual tropical images that you would expect from this theme. There is a koala in a tree which I wouldn’t class as tropical but maybe to the rest of the world it is 🙂
Some of the images run right to the spine of the book which can make it difficult to colour in the crease area. Another issue with this book is that some of the full page designs have elements cut off at the spine eg half a bird is shown.
