- the step by step instructions is accompanied by text in Chinese.  You can use a scan and translate app to get the gist of the instructions if the illustrative step is not sufficient
- colorable textured dust jacket with fold-out (this is going to get dirty so I suggest removing or covering)

- paper is off white, smooth, and thin to medium
- dull black line art which varies in width and solidity depending on the picture
- the drawing instructions start out with flowers, then animals, and then people. The drawings are progressively more complex as you get deeper into the book
- if you do not want to learn to draw there are many pictures to color within the book
- the artist has created other books in this series if you wish to further your knowledge
