Summer Holidays Colouring Magazine – New Idea
This magazine is published by New Idea. New Idea have a weekly magazine in Australia that is focused on celebrity news and health and beauty tips. The Summer Holidays Colouring magazine contains 80 images that remind you of summer in Australia. You will find pictures of thongs, beaches and tropical lifestyle.
This is a soft cover magazine and the images have been printed on both sides of the paper. The paper is thin which you would expect from a magazine. The majority of the images are zentangle based meaning they have an outline of an image that is then filled with small pattern. The patterns may be too small for some colorists who may prefer larger spaces to work with. The illustrations are heavily outlined in black which may be beneficial to colorists who are visually challenged.
Whilst I have not coloured in this book myself, I do not believe that the paper would withstand wet media. I would test your textas, markers and the like on the nameplate page and check for bleed through. As the images are so heavily outlined colouring with markers or gel pens would bring added vibrancy to the images.
New Idea produce a number of these colouring magazines which are usually available on subscription, at the newsagents or at the local supermarket.
