id=\"Words_of_Love_to_Color_%E2%80%93_Sweet_Thoughts_to_Live_and_Color_By_Review\"><\/span>Words of Love to Color &#8211; Sweet Thoughts to Live and Color By Review<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Eleri Fowler has already published two beautiful coloring books.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The first being the ever popular <a href=\"http:\/\/coloringqueen.net\/joyous-blooms-color-coloring-book-review\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Joyous Blooms to Color<\/span><\/a> packed full of gorgeous florals with lovely quotes that make you feel good.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This book was followed up with a perfect book to celebrate Mothers Day,\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/coloringqueen.net\/my-mother-my-heart-coloring-book\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">My Mother My Heart<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Eleri has a particular style of illustrating flowers and quotes which often appears folksy or Scandinavian but always offers the colorist many opportunities for beautiful colored pages.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cover_Layout\"><\/span>Cover &amp; Layout<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>All of the coloring books created by Eleri Fowler follow the same style and format.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The cover is white and textured and features a partially colored illustration from the book, which is always stunningly beautiful.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Words of Love to Color is consistent with the previous coloring books.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The only point of difference being that the highlight color is bold red which tends to look more vibrant on a side by side comparison with the other books.\u00a0\u00a0 Red foil highlights complement the colored image on the cover.<\/p>\n<p>The back cover features line art with a text blurb in the middle.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The spine also features red to complement the title cover with text in white cursive.<\/p>\n<p>Words of Love to Color is the same size as the previous books measuring in at predominantly text based title page embellished with a flurry of love\u00a0 hearts.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The sub title text has been given its own page decorated with an adorable hot air balloon.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Copyright information has a charming illustration of hummingbirds on it.<\/p>\n<p>A lovely heart shape has been adorned with flowers and is used as a nameplate page.\u00a0 On the reverse of this image are two owls.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Following this is a note from the author, with text surrounded by a wreath of flowers.\u00a0\u00a0 This is followed by two pages more of text discussing the artist&#8217;s influences and behind the scenes.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This text has been framed in more beautiful flowers for you to color in.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the book there are two pages citing the source of the quotes used in the book and another page about the author.\u00a0 All of these pages are decorated with flowers for you to color in.<\/p>\n<p>Colorists have ample pages to choose from among these ancillary pages to test out their markers and mediums and see how they react with the paper and their coloring style.<\/p>\n<p><img \/><\/p>\n<h3>Layout<\/h3>\n<p>All of the illustrations in the book have been printed on both sides of the white paper.\u00a0\u00a0 The images are all\u00a0 orientated portrait style.<\/p>\n<p>When I received the book it felt to me a lot lighter than my previous books from the same artist that have the same page count.\u00a0 Lining them up side by side, I can see that the books although they have the same page count are thinner than previous books.<\/p>\n<p>I have endeavored to photograph the difference between the books.\u00a0\u00a0 As the fan was on, it is super hot in Sydney today \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 I have had to weigh the cover down to stop it flying about.\u00a0\u00a0 You can see that there is a few millimeters difference in size of the books with this book being thinner than the previous two (although the same number of pages).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5449\" Love to Color also feels very thin to me despite the publisher blurb.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In my opinion it is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not medium weight paper.<\/span>\u00a0 It is quite possible, although unlikely that I have received a coloring book that has light weight paper in it, but as we know from <a href=\"http:\/\/coloringqueen.net\/psa-daydreams-summer-nights-coloring-books-paper-quality\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">recent coloring book releases<\/span><\/a> &#8211; it can happen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5448\" not going completely mad, it was time to pull out the scales.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As you can see from the pictures below Joyous Blooms to Color weighs approximately 100 grams more than Words of and Illustrations<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If I had two wishes, it would be that the paper and binding in my copy of Words of Love was the same standard as\u00a0 the paper in Joyous Blooms to Color.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Saying that,\u00a0 I adore the work of\u00a0 Eleri Fowler, and I love the illustrations in this book, but I will only be using my soft colored pencils with the book.<\/p>\n<p>The line art is beautiful, crisp black and clear.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Eleri always draws with a beautiful elegance that makes her work very appealing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5454\" src=\"http:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/coloring-queen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/02135358\/WordsofLovetoColor-EleriFowler_0737-986x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"810\" height=\"841\" theme of the book is &#8220;love&#8221; and it seems that this book release is geared towards the Valentines Day gift market.\u00a0 However, it is not a seasonal book and you will find just as much enjoyment coloring it in, at any time of the year.<\/p>\n<p>You will find adorable animals throughout the book, traditional pictures that denote romance like Paris and roses.\u00a0\u00a0 There are lovely birds, an abundance of flowers and quotes throughout the book.<\/p>\n<p>The bulk of the illustrations are printed one scene to a page but there are a few double page scenes in the coloring book.<\/p>\n<p>Many illustrations run to the spine of the book.\u00a0\u00a0 These areas will be tricky to color and I am not feeling confident that the strong binding will loosen with further use to make it easier to access these areas.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I have already spent quite a bit of time trying to push the binding, which usually relaxes the spine.
