Whimsical Gardens – Adult Coloring Book
Creative Haven produces a number of coloring books for adults.    This review is for their book Whimsical Gardens which was illustrated by Alexandra Cowell.    The book has a soft card cover and is approximately 28cm x 21cm.   Creative Haven have a publishing standard of always including a couple of colored images from the book on the inside and back cover.   Creative Haven also print their coloring books on single sided, white, perforated paper.    This makes it easy to remove the page you wish to work on and put it on a clipboard or table.
Illustrations
There are 31 illustrations in the book featuring gardens.   I hesitate to say that they are whimsical.    The front cover of the book looks whimsical to me (this picture is included in the book).  However a lot of the images do not have that whimsical style.   In my opinion, there are some pages of just flowers which do not exude whimsy.  I suspect they are included to break the theme of the book and offer variety to the colorist. I would have preferred more whimsy myself 🙂
You will find some cute illustrations of umbrellas, wishing well, duck pond and a party celebration among others.
Many of the illustrations are very detailed with fine lines which may cause issues if your eyesight is poor. There are also some fiddly little flowers on one page that you would need either a fine sharpened pencil or a fine point pen to color (unless you are super skilled!)
