Slinky Tart – The Naughty Coloring Book for Adults and Men illustrated by Tamara van Wijk
Slinky Tart is not really a naughty coloring book. I have seen far naughtier coloring books. The pin up girl style art of illustrator Tamara van Wijk is more sexy than naughty, in my opinion.
The cover of Slinky Tart has a beautiful imaged colored by Denise Griffith. I would love to color like Denise one day! The cover has a waxy feel to it. Although there is some black and white line work that you might be tempted to color on it, I would leave it alone. The book measures approximately 28 cm x 21.5 cm.
Slinky Tart was the first coloring book created by Tamara van Wijk. It contains 24 illustrations printed on white single sided paper. If you re coloring direct from the book I would suggest that you put a piece of paper between to prevent dents from pencils or bleed through. The paper is quite thin and is typical of paper produced by Amazon for books. I would recommend that you copy the image you wish to use as no doubt you will want to color it more than once.
You might think, at first glance, that the line work is too simple for an adult coloring book. If you are thinking that, I encourage you to go and look at the cover one more time. The real beauty of this book is the skill that the colorist needs to blend, shade and shadow to create the effect of a beautiful pin up. This takes real skill and talent. I love the work that Tamara produces. I hope one day to be able to color her work to do it justice.
