Color Wheels and Swatches

Prismacolor Colored Pencils Color Wheel Free Download

At the time of writing, Prismacolor Premier colored pencils are available in a range of sizes.   The full set comprises 150 pencils which I have used to create my color wheel.    Using color theory I have created the color wheel allocating each pencil to the wheel.  The color wheel is divided into warm and cool colours and a small wheel of neutrals.    As there are 150 pencils in the full set the sections of the wheel have been divided into 18 rather than 12 to better allocate the colors.  Having the colors sorted in this way makes it easier for me to find the pencils that suit the project that I am working on.

Please note,  we all see color differently, these are my selections, you may not agree with them 🙂

Although, I tried numerous times to type the numbering in it was far too slow of a process and much quicker to do by hand!     You will see that there are some blank slices of the color wheel pie where I have not found colors that suit this color family.

You can see my review of the Prismacolor colored pencils here.

Instructions

  • print out the two-page color wheel on  Australian A4 paper or US Legal
  • color  the slices in the pie
  • laminate the two pages to avoid it getting damaged with long term use
  •  cut out each wheel
  • stack the wheels in order of smallest to largest.
  • use a nail or drill punched a hole through  the center of each of the laminated wheels
  • bind together using a  paper fastener (mine is 19mm size)

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.

  • So many people want to charge $$ for something as handy as this — I mean, in a way, I can’t blame em, times are tough — but that makes your generosity that much greater. Thank you!

  • I’ve just came across your blog, thank you so much for sharing your colour wheels. I’ve been searching for ways to enhance my colouring with Prisma pencils but I’ve not found anything suitable until now. I am also rapt that you are from Australia and if I may borrow the lines from Men At Works’s song “You are speaking my language, I came from the land down under”…

    • Thank you Max! I hope the color wheels are useful to you! I also enjoying using the paint chip swatches as well that you will find on this site! I’m more of an AC/DC girl than Men at Work but I always love a vegemite sandwich lol! Lea x
