Mystical A Fantasy Coloring Book (Molly's eighth fantasy themed coloring book!) features fairies, mermaids, bohemian beauties, dragons, owls stars and moons and more. Be swept away into a mystical realm where you choose the colors! Some images are highly detailed while others are a bit more simple. None of the illustrations in this coloring book have been released in any other of Molly's coloring books. The illustrations are printed on one side only. It is best to use colored pencil however if you choose to use gel pen or marker, place a piece of paper between the pages to prevent bleed-through. Due to the highly detailed nature of this coloring book, it is recommended for adults and older children (I suggest 8 and up).

Mystical by Molly Harrison
Mystical is a beautiful colouring book by acclaimed artist, Molly Harrison.
This is a soft cover book that measures approximately 21.5 cm x 28cm. The cover already has a printed image on it and there is nothing for you to colour here. On the back of the cover you will see thumbnails of the 25 illustrations included in the book.
The title page is an image of a fairy which is not the same as the front cover. The front cover comprises a number of different types of illustrations and is more of a taster for what is inside, than a representation of an individual page.
The title page is a good place to test out your wet mediums that you may wish to use, and check for bleed through.
The paper is white and thin. The paper is of the quality that colorists are now expecting from independently published artists. If you insert a piece of card between the pages you should have no problems with bleed through or indentations from coaxing your pencils to blend.
All of the illustrations are nicely centred on the page and have a border framing them. The majority of the images are presented as a portrait image with one landscape size image.  Out of the 25 illustrations included in the book all consist of beautiful, mystical girls except for: an image of an owl, an image of a dragon and a unicorn.  The images are presented in such a way that you will have no difficulty coloring the entire image.  Some images often run to the spine of the book making it problematic to color.
Some of the lovely fantasy figures included in the book do not have pupils in their eyes which disconcerts me somewhat 🙂 No doubt, this gives a more mystical flavour to the illustration but I, for one, will be drawing some eyes in.
The art work covers the entire page in the most part but some images leave an opportunity for the colorist to add in a lovely background.
There is a nice mix of images within the book.  Some images have finer detail than others and would be suitable for those that like fiddly bits.  There are also a number of images that whilst they have detail they have plenty of space in order to color in.  These types of images are more suitable for those with visual issues or problems with arthritis for instance.

Enjoy the video flip through review of Mystical – A Fantasy Coloring Book by Molly Harrison
The line work on the images is very crisp, black and if you have visual issues it should not present a problem.
