Mulga’s Magical Colouring Book:(extra magical edition) – Adult Coloring Book Review
Mulga’s Magical Colouring Book is created by Mulga the Artist who is Joel Moore an Australian artist based in Sydney. The book is small measuring 22.5 cm x 21.5 cm approximately.
The cover is card and glossy. Although there is some uncoloured line work it would be difficult to colour. Inside you will find a poem from Mulga to start you colouring and an array of illustrations.
The Cast of Characters is listed out over 2 pages. They have a range of quirky names like Pineapple Head Fred, Snake Turban Steve and Fabio Fox. The characters are all illustrations in the book.
The illustrations are primarily animals but there are a few people in there as well (including bearded men and pineapple heads). The illustrations are printed on both sides of the paper. The paper is reasonable quality but not enough to withstand layering with markers. Always, test first in one of the prelude pages before diving into the picture.
Some of the illustrations have a lot of solid black already printed. Some colorists may like this …others may not. Personal preference 🙂 Personally, I would have preferred less solid black but others may differ.
Many of these illustrations are very complex with little tiny circle details. If your eyesight is poor you may not find coloring those images as relaxing as you had hoped 🙂
