Aunty Acid is an internet celebrity with her sass and wit lighting up my Facebook feed throughout the day. It was inevitable that Aunty Acid would produce a coloring book for adults based on some of her popular pearls of wisdom.
The soft cover book has been published by Blue Star Coloring. Blue Star have a number of adult coloring books and are very experienced in selecting themes, layout and illustrators for their books. The book has been co illustrated by Ged Backland and Katie Packer.
The soft cover book measures 11 inches x 8.5 inches which is a common sizing choice for adult coloring books. This size is perfect for copy paper, cardstock and most home printers.
Inside you will find sass and lots of it! Most of Aunty Acid’s sass is G rated but there is one or two naughty words – not witch, not sass but sounds like it.
The cover page of the book is the first image that you will see when you open the book. Unfortunately, it has the title text on it but I am happy to cut that off and color that picture. This is also a good picture to test your mediums on and make sure that there is no bleed through.Blue Star also include tips in each of their books and you will find this near the front cover of the book.
You will find a cute nameplate page for you to fill in all your details. Have fun coloring Aunty Acid and her wine habit on the page!
The illustrations are printed on thin, white paper, single sided. The images are a mixture of portrait and landscape positioning, so get used to turning your book around. This is another thing that I notice with Blue Star that they often change the orientation of their images. I am sure that this is to make sure that you do not become complacent with your book and it adds a little variety to the image design.
Inside there are 35 full page illustrations. Most of the illustrations have some sort of border around them (or at least something in the corners of the page). Aunty Acid features on each page. The illustrations are all well centred on the page and do not leak into the spine making coloring easy. I love this type of book because you can do free and easy coloring for fun (where you don’t have to think too much!) or you can go to town with the blending and shading and really tart the illustrations up.
