She first made us fall in love with sleepy fairies in Fairies in Dreamland (still my fave) and then we had fun with Mermaids in Paradise. Gnomes in the Neighbourhood: An Artist’s Coloring book is the third coloring book to be published by Denyse Klette. I absolutely love the title of this third coloring book but until Denyse posted some works in progress of the book I couldn’t imagine what it would look like. Having seen the cover art and the page below now… I’m super excited! It looks like it is going to be cuteness overload!

I try to start my day off with a sketch while I have coffee but now my work has started on the illustrations for Gnomes in the Neighbourhood colouring book so my 60 daily designs will be for the book. I’ve done lots of garden gnomes but they have all been boys. I had to come up with my ‘chick’ gnome but the tough part is I don’t give them lips and well, girls don’t have beards so how do I design a girl gnome and hid her mouth? I think I figured it out!! About Denyse Klette

Denyse first started painting as a child for the school play murals. At an early age she knew that this was what she wanted to do with her life. Her murals, landscapes and paintings have been shown around the world in galleries and corporate offices. Denyse also as a sculptor created Disney characters and then went on to create characters for children including for television. Fairies in Dreamland is the first coloring book from this talented Canadian artist.
