Otters in October

October is both my birthday month and the first anniversary of my coloring journey, so to celebrate I thought I would try my hand at hosting my first color along!

To participate, all you have to do is color any page that includes one of my favorite animals, the otter! Make sure to use the hashtag #ottersinoctober and tag me, @atraceofcolor so I can see your work.

Despite being otterly adorable, otters are not as popular a subject in coloring books as some other animals, but I believe the new @milliemarotta book Secrets of the Sea has a beautiful two-page otter spread, and @marjoriesarnat has two sweet sea otters in her Fanciful Sea Life book. @coloringbookcafe also appears to have otter pages in a few of their books. And of course, you can also find lots of downloadable otter coloring pages online, both for a fee and free. @clairewatsonart has some of my favorite free pages on her website, including three featuring river otters and one with sea otters.
