This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all coloring books being released. Bear in mind, that there are hundreds and hundreds of books being released every month. I cannot possibly keep up with all of them!
This list of new releases is only books that have taken my fancy, and that I think you may like as well. Due to the high cost of postage for most readers, this list will usually not include International releases.
Please also bear in mind that different countries often have different publication dates. Something may be released in the US earlier than in the UK or vice versa.
If you know of a new release that you think I may be interested in, leave a comment in the area below
There are a lot of books that are available for pre-order that I will include here as well
let’s go …

It’s back …..
The Book of Wildergorn
For fans of this large A3-sized book you will be pleased to know it is now back in stock. This monster book is a luxurious coloring book featuring a silver metal binding (allowing the book to fold back) a red saying bookmark and hardback “sturdy gloss laminated covers”.  The book contains illustrations from “artist and explorer Jamie Courtier, during his expeditions to Wildergorn”.  These are highly detailed and intricate pieces of art that are just stunning in black and white and even better when colored.
The book is printed on double-sided paper. Extensive testing was conducted to ensure that the 300 gsm uncoated card paper is “thick enough to prevent most types of ink penetrating the page”. According to the book blurb markers, gel pens, brush pens, inks, watercolors and pencils can all be used.   A test page has also been included if you want to try your mediums before diving in.

Coming soon
Many of my favorite artists are releasing coloring books this year.  I’m starting my Christmas wish list early! Here are some of the books that I am looking forward to this year and next year
The latest from Millie Marotta features “90 amazing animals from around the world, with a focus on endangered and vulnerable species”. You will find “wildlife from the adorable axolotl to the much-loved snow leopard… the Javan rhino, the wild camel, and the elusive mountain gorilla…. humphead wrasse, the mini blue bee shrimp, and the majestic blue whale … insects ..including bumblebee species and the monarch butterfly” and many more including those once thought to be extinct. More than a coloring book, it really is an education on the amazing animals and creatures that are at risk of extinction.

Tales of Mischief Coloring Book
Jack Brutus Penny is a UK “nonsense writer and illustrator” living in Japan.  His work is highly detailed and interesting.  You can check it out at his shop here.  After creating books, playing cards, coasters, and even cuff links Jack is dipping his toes into the coloring book world.    He is creating a completely different style of coloring book that most colorists are familiar with.
His coloring book is called Tales of Mischief in Colour which will be a limited edition book.  This luxury hardcover book features a textured and foiled cover.  The line art in this 24-page coloring book is already colored and the book is presented in the traditional Japanese Orihon style.  This is an accordion-style book where it folds out.  I have coloring books that have pre-colored lines and I have accordion-style books but this is the first time I’ve seen both styles combined in one book.
You can check out the Kickstarter for the unique Tales of Mischief Coloring Book and other items in this series at the Kickstarter here.

Gabriel Colors on Instagram is releasing his first coloring book soon.   It is titled “Alchemise – The Nightmare Becomes Art” it is a deep immersion into the alchemy of feelings, where each page is permeated by the transformation of the darkest emotions, while feelings of pain, fear and anguish are transmuted. ” The sneak peeks on Instagram look amazing and I can’t wait to see this new book.
Hanna Karlzon
Hanna is getting into the Christmas spirit with a Christmas-themed coloring book due for release in August 2024.  The 64-page hardcover book is called “God Jul” and “will be filled with festive holiday and winter designs; decorations, Christmas trees, angels, gingerbreads, reindeer, fancy gifts” etc.  It is a smaller size than some of her other coloring books at 24 cm x 20 cm.
