My pick of the new coloring books releases for July 2020

This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all coloring books being released. Bear in mind, that there are hundreds and hundreds of books being released every month. I cannot possibly keep up with all of them!
This list of new releases is only books that have taken my fancy, and that I think that you may like as well. Due to the high cost of postage for most readers, this list will usually not include International releases.
Many of these books I will be reviewing as part of my coloring book reviews.
Please also bear in mind that different countries often have different publication dates. Something may be released in the US earlier than in the UK or vice versa.
If you know of a new release that you think I may be interested in, leave a comment in the area below
let’s go …

Women + Patterns + Plants: A Self-Care Coloring Book
I am a woman that loves plants so this seems like a great book for me!  The publisher’s blurb promises “illustrations that celebrate the wild woman, and the natural world she lives in ….richly patterned images of women surrounded by flora and forest, in yoga poses, lost in dreams, and flourishing in the light. Along with the art, you’ll find haiku, reflections, and prompts to awaken the mind and heart.”

Mystic Illusions Coloring Book
This coloring and activity book by Beverly Yablin appears to be the illustrator’s first coloring book.  At the time of writing a “look inside” was not available and I am not familiar with this illustrator’s portfolio.   The cover art intrigued me as well as the description which promises “serene landscapes of garden designs with denizens of the garden…. It is a multi-cultural book that appeals to individuals from all nations….Each page has a mysterious element to inspire your creativity and help bring you to a relaxing mode. There are 30+ pages of imaginary places to color and embellish. You can add extra creativity by applying jewels to the finished pieces. Many of these coloring pages reflect a modern view of women in our society. Some of the figures are warrior types and some are reflective of Victorian ladies in imaginary settings.”

Tangle Wood & Tangle Magic (large format editions)
Jessica Palmer has created a larger format edition of her previous coloring books Tangle Wood and Tangle Magic.  The books appear to be approximately 28mm larger and 60 gm heavier than previous editions of these books.  The page count remains the same at 80 pages with double page spreads and interactive with things to find. The publisher’s blurb states “The images all have a magical woodland theme, and each one includes a hidden jewel, intricately worked into the design, which will include rings, brooches, pendants, chains, bracelets and earrings featuring insects, animals and leafy patterns. The book includes designs that fit on a single page as well as those that extend across a double-page spread. Some of the designs fill the entire page and others sit within it. A Natural History of Color: The Science Behind What We See and How We See it
This book. has really piqued my interest because we all see color in a different way.  Understanding the reason and expanding our knowledge of color I think would be really helpful.  The publisher’s blurb promises “A star curator at the American Museum of Natural History widens the palette and shows how the physical, natural, and cultural context of color are inextricably tied to what we see right before our eyes.“
