Coloring Books – New Releases August 2022
This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all coloring books being released. Bear in mind, that there are hundreds and hundreds of books being released every month. I cannot possibly keep up with all of them!
This list of new releases is only books that have taken my fancy, and that I think that you may like as well. Due to the high cost of postage for most readers, this list will usually not include International releases.
Please also bear in mind that different countries often have different publication dates. Something may be released in the US earlier than in the UK or vice versa.

Rita Berman is releasing a new coloring book featuring a tour of Asia to color in. A set of postcards with the same theme will be released in September.

Watercolor Cards with Foil Touches
Kristy Rice who is a dab hand with watercolors has another watercolor project for fans to enjoy. The nature-based cards come with a paint dot card and brush so you can start straight away. There are 12 cards and envelopes included as well.

Manga Glow in the Dark Coloring Book
The cover of this book immediately makes me think of Camilla D’errico but the illustrators Juan and Santiago Calle have a different style of art to Camilla. You can take a peek at the “look inside” to see what I mean about the manga-based characters in this book. The publishers promise “glowing universe of monster-fighting heroines, cute and cuddly ghosts, and otherworldly creatures that will make you squeal with fright and delight!“. There are 24 pages out of the 90 scenes to color that glow in the dark. Pages are perforated for ease of removal for coloring or framing.

Creative Haven Enchanted Coloring Book
Prolific illustrator, Marjorie Sarnat has illustrated another coloring book for the Creative Haven brand. The books feature single-sided images and perforated pages. The publisher promises “31 gorgeous illustrations feature fairies, princesses, dragons, unicorns, mermaids, and other magical creatures in beautiful fantasy settings.”

Zendoodle Colorscapes: Good Dog: Lovable Pups to Color & Display
Deborah Muller and Jeanette Wummel have teamed up again to create another coloring book for the Zendoodle series of books. This one promises “60 hand-drawn images of the very best pups of all shapes and sizes!” The pages are perforated for ease of removal and the images are printed on one side only.

Ultimate Day of the Dead Coloring Book
Thaneeya McArdle has a unique and fun illustrating and coloring talent. Her artwork always makes me smile just looking at it. This coloring book is huge and jam-packed and filled with “84 stunning sugar skull designs inspired by the Mexican holiday, Dia de los Muertos.”

Creative Haven The Saturday Evening Post Christmas Classics
Marty Noble, that has illustrated a large number of coloring books for the Creative Haven brand has a new “Christmas” themed book based on The Saturday Evening Post. The publisher promises “31 vintage illustrations from the iconic covers of The Saturday Evening Post and its sister magazines. The holiday images, created from 1913 to 1960, are by such acclaimed artists as Stevan Dohanos, John Falter, Henry Hintermeister, George Hughes, J. C. Leyendecker, Richard Sargent, and Norman Rockwell, who considered The Saturday Evening Post to be “the greatest show window in America.” Reduced-size full-color reproductions with the original color schemes appear on the inside cover.” This promises to be a truly special coloring book!

The Mice Before Christmas Coloring Book
Get ready for Christmas with this gorgeous grayscale “mice-themed” coloring book. According to the publishers, this is the “prequel to Clement Clarke Moore’s famous poem “The Night Before Christmas.” Illustrations are by Wendy Edelson who has previously released other grayscale coloring books like The Bakers Dozen and Quackling. The Mice before Christmas is more than a coloring book though, it is also a storybook. A companion poem has been written by Anne L Watson to accompany the gorgeous illustrations.
