Cats – Colouring for Mindfulness: Adult Coloring Book Review

This is a cute and quirky cat colouring book for adults. The book measures 25cm x 25cm approximately and comes with a card cover. The cover folds out and the inner cover image can be colored. On the flap part of the cover there is information about the illustrators and a cute cat. The back is similar with the inner cover being colorable and a cute kitty on the flap.

You should know this, I love cats, dogs, ducks …..you name it (except the creepy crawlies). It’s no surprise that I love this cat book 🙂

Illustrations

I love the cute illustrations on the forward page dedicating the book to the illustrators’ cats. It’s a sweet touch. I also love the lovely illustration of a cat on the nameplate page. Again, it is a lovely touch in the book to add these smaller illustrations on ancillary pages.

The book is in story book form with images printed on each side of the page. The paper is white and good quality (not enough tooth for those markers though – test first). The illustrations have been well outlined in black and there are lots of things to color on the pages without being overwhelmed. I love the cats in the rain picture, on the piano and of course, dressed up in bow ties. The illustrators have done a remarkable job putting together such a quirky collection of kittys to color.

The illustrations encompass the entire double page spread. You will have to lay the book down flat to color the area in the spine of the book. I found that the book lays down well with just some light coaxing from me.

The book also offers a wide variety of images. There are images with less detail and more white space, suitable for those that do not like or are unable to do fiddly coloring. If you are a fan of cats then I am sure that you will love this cat colouring book. My only negative is the paper. If only the images were on double sided paper or at least paper that was slightly thicker.
