Beautiful World of the Bible Coloring Book  Review

As the title implies,   Beautiful World of the Bible is a christian based coloring book.      You may recall the illustrator,  Yoshie Kandou, who illustrated the beautiful Romantic Princess coloring book.     You can see the review of  Romantic Princess here. I was a little surprised that Yoshie’s second coloring book didn’t follow a Princess or fairy tale theme, but was pleased to see that her style of art translated to a Christian based coloring book.

Cover & Layout

Beautiful World of the Bible Coloring Book features a glossy colored dust jacket with gold foil highlights on the angel wings.       The back features a colored image of a cross, surrounded by stars.  Although, it is a simple design,  it looks very effective when colored.

The inner fold out flaps feature some line art at the front and a little about the artist at the back.

A crimson card cover with white outlines forms the coloring book proper.

Beautiful World of the Bible Coloring Book measures approximately 27cm x 22.5cm (10.7 in x 8.9in)

Ancillary Pages

A beautifully illustrated title page commences the book.    Rather than reproducing the cover art,  a different image has been used with  Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.   This illustration has been expanded to a double page spread in the coloring book as well.

At the end of the book, there’s a page of text, in Japanese with copyright information on reverse.    This would be the best place to test out your mediums and see how they react with the paper and your coloring style.

The illustrations have been printed on both sides of the paper.   The paper is a medium to heavy weight and off white in color.

Line art does run to the spine of the book.   However, the spine should loosen with further use making it easier to color in these areas.

There are 16 double page scenes within the book.   Four pages have a pre printed black background.

It is a shame that the images were not printed on single sided paper as many of the quotes would look lovely framed.

Beautiful World of the Bible Coloring Book Images and Illustrations

Yoshie has drawn some delightfully sweet and whimsical illustrations to accompany the uplifting messages within this Christian based coloring book.

You will find patterned hillsides,  cute animals, elegantly drawn flowers and birds and lovely angels.       Although this is themed as a religious coloring book,  non religious colorists may enjoy it as the imagery is sweet and whimsical with many non religious illustrations like the solar system and  nature scenes.

Consideration has been given to the text associated with each image in the book.   Text for verses has been presented in both Japanese and English for most, but not all of the images.     Images that contain a quote with a font outline to be colored are in English.

About the author

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.
