American Folk Art Coloring Book  Review
I adore American Folk Art! Â It’s so sweet, simple and fun and looks charming when colored in. Â Â Â When I seen this lovely handmade American Folk Art Coloring Book I had to have it. Â Â Created by self taught artist, Â Gayle Barff, it is very appealing. Â You could easily imagine the colored pictures framed and given as gifts.
Cover & Layout
The cover features a thin card with line art on on the left and the artist’s branding on the right.  Unusually, there is  no title on the cover.
On the back cover, a colored image from the book has been printed as inspiration.
Information about the artist is printed on the inside front cover and contact details on the back inner cover.
American Folk Art Coloring Book  is roughly A4 sized measuring approximately 28cm x 21.5cm with the binding.
Ancillary Pages
There are no ancillary pages.
Layout
Each illustration has been printed on medium to heavy white paper that has a slight tooth to it. Â The images are all single sided and have spiral metal coil binding. Â You can easily remove the page from the book for coloring and framing.
All of the drawings have been well positioned on the page and centered.
Thought  seems to have gone into the positioning of the image near the binding, to ensure that you won’t damage the picture if you are over zealous with your tearing from the coil binding.
American Folk Art  Coloring Book Images and Illustrations
Gayle Barff has illustrated this collection of 20 illustrations in a crisp, black ink. Â Â The line weight is medium to thick which makes it suitable for colorists of all ages and particularly colorists that have a minor visual impairment.
You will find a lot of scenes in this coloring book featuring quirky houses and barns,  farmers  and their livestock and town scenes.   The work is very naive, which I find totally charming, with the elements being outlines without a great deal of added detail.
In some scenes you will find some background detail, Â a few floating clouds, bird wings or the night sky.
