World Travel Disney Painting  Coloring Book  Review

World Travel Disney Coloring Book is a very different coloring book from those that we may be used to.     The art work throughout is designed to be traced over like Eriy’s Tracing Around the World Coloring Book.      As such, it may not appeal to everyone.   At first,  I wasn’t too keen on it either, as the line art is hard to see.  However, as often happens (especially with Disney) I have now fallen in love with it.

Cover & Layout

There is a lovely dust jacket that protects this coloring book featuring colored images from within the book.   Your favorite Disney characters feature here including Winnie the Pooh, Alice in Wonderland, Donald and Daisy Duck and Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

The concept of the book shows favorite Disney characters visiting recognizable landmarks from around the world.

Ancillary Pages

A gorgeous title page features Mickey and Minnie at the front of the book.   The line art for this illustration is clearer than the balance of coloring pages from the book.  This would be a good spot to test out your mediums.

You will also find two pages of colored tips and tricks and some lovely colored thumbnails.

There are 6 pages of thumbnails that follow where black and white images have been printed on a toned background.    Although I cannot read the text, it looks like the book has been divided into chapters and shows page numbers.  I presume that the chapters depict the various countries being incorporated.

Layout

Illustrations have been printed on both sides of the faint textured white, medium to heavy paper.

All of the illustrations have been printed with a lime green outline and a medium to heavy line weight.

There are a number of double-page scenes within the book.  Fortunately, the binding is very good and the book lays down flat easily for coloring.

Art Work

The artwork has been printed in a green ink which makes it very difficult to see.  As I am a  Disney fan I made the effort to pop on my glasses to inspect it more closely. What is lovely about the artwork in this coloring book is that the Disney characters are well represented.     The other thing that I like is that it is very nostalgic is that the characters included are ones that older colorists (like me) are more familiar with.     Many of the new characters, I’m not up to date with 🙁

Colorists that have a minor visual impairment may struggle with the color of the line art.     If you were able to trace around it in a darker line first or use a magnifying lamp it would be a great book to color.    The large open areas on the pictures make them easy to color for colorists with a motor skill impairment and provided the outline could be darkened would also be great for visually challenged colorists.

Each of the countries included in the illustrations are easily recognizable with the artist using familiar landmarks.

This is the type of the book that is great for colorists of all ages and skill levels.     Colorists that are able to blend and shade will add so much to each page with their skill.  Colorists that prefer solidly coloring will still get a great result and effect on the page.

About the author

coloringqueen

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.
