This unique coloring book features immersive aerial views of real cities from around the world alongside gorgeously illustrated, Inception-like architectural mandalas. Artist Steve McDonald's beautifully rendered and detailed line work offers bird's-eye perspectives of visually arresting global locales from New York, London, and Paris to Istanbul, Tokyo, and Melbourne, Rio, Amsterdam, and many more. The adult coloring book's distinctive large square format offers absorbingly complex vistas to color, the crisp white pages are conducive to a range of artistic applications, and a middle margin keeps all the artwork fully colorable. Complementing the cityscapes are a selection of mind-bending labyrinthine architectural illustrations for still deeper meditative coloring adventures and imaginative flights of fancy.

Fantastic Cities Coloring Book – Steve McDonald

Fantastic Cities is the first adult colouring book by Steve McDonald

It comes with a lovely card cover and the book is a larger square shape than most colouring books on the market. The book measures approximately 29.5 cm x 30 cm. The cover is partially printed and you could perhaps colour the balance with alcohol based markers, if you wished.

On the inside cover you will find coloured pictures of the cities in the book together with their names.

The images are printed on white good quality paper. Like all books, I would test your markers first on the front page to see if there is any bleed through depending on the brand.

This book is filled with intricate designs that would take weeks (if not months for some) to complete. Thankfully, the images are on larger size paper as they could be difficult to colour if the book was printed in a smaller format.

About the author

coloringqueen

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.
