I Bring You Flowers – Postcard Book Video Review

I hope you enjoyed the short video review above of “I Bring You Flowers”  set of postcards by Swedish artist, Maria Trolle.

I Bring You Flowers – Postcard Book Review

I remember back in late March/early April when I was browsing the Penstore in Sweden buying my first Swedish coloring books.    On a whim, and because my birthday is in April I added to my order of Hanna Karlzon coloring books a book called Blomster Mandala and another called Sagolikt.

Blomster Mandala stole my heart with the lovely black cover, so elegant and Sagolikt with the bunny on the cover.    These books are among my favorite coloring books that I have bought.  It seems odd that I bought based on a whim and because I felt that I deserved a Birthday present for myself 🙂

That lovely black cover that enticed me on Blomster Mandala has also been featured in this gorgeous set of postcards by Maria Trolle.

Cover & Layout

This set of 20 postcards is in book format making it easy to carry and convenient for coloring.     The cover is a lovely black matte with copper foil text that gives it a very elegant feel.    On the front cover  some flowers and a fern frond have been partially colored in.   A segment of this image has also been incorporated on the back cover of the book.     The s pine of the postcard book is a lovely deep lilac which complements the cover design.

The book measures 17.5cm x 12.5cm.

Usually, with postcard books, the inner cover does not contain information or images.  However, with I Bring You Flowers, the front inner cover has a lovely floral design with the name of the book as a tag.  On the back inner cover a little butterfly, tag and flower are waiting to be colored.

There are 20 pages of postcards to color plus the front and back inner covers.

The postcards have all been orientated portrait style.

Within the book there are  9 cards that have already been printed with a black background.   The cover image has also been included with a black background.

Illustrations

All of the illustrations have been printed on good quality white card stock.      The line art is black and crisp and a fine to medium line weight.     Visually the art work is easy to see but some of the illustrations may prove challenging if you struggle with small details.

Some of the cards have pre printed messages on them, in English.    The text includes “Happy Birthday”,   “Thank You”  “Congrats”  “Congratulations” “Love You”  “Thanks”   “Love” Often these messages are so well hidden that  you may not find them at first glance.     Some have veen included in bouquet ribbon and even a shears blade.

There are 5 blank cards that do not contain a message making them suitable for all occasions.

About the author

coloringqueen

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.
