Just Add Color: Day of the Dead illustrated by Sarah Walsh

The Just Add Color series of books use a number of artists to illustrate each theme of their books.    The Day of the Dead coloring book is illustrated by one of my favorite artists, Sarah Walsh.

The publishers of the Just Add Color series of books print these books all in the same size.   The size measures approximately 25.5 x 21.5 cm and is a smallish square book.    I like the size of the book and find it convenient for the limited coloring area that I have in my home.     You will notice that each book produced has a different color spine which makes it easy to find on your shelf.

The Day of the Dead book is my favorite so far that Sarah Walsh has illustrated.    You will find 30 beautiful illustrations ready to color, customize and frame.   The illustrations are printed on good quality white paper that has a lot of tooth to it.  The paper is perforated for easy removal from the book.

The line work in all these books is very clear, black and easy to see to fill up with color.

The illustrations in this book fill the page with quirky day of  the dead style skulls and imagery.   There are a lot of skeleton style pictures to color in as well which is a nice change from the pure skull images that are so popular with this theme.        This is one of my favorite books in my collection.     I love the quirky images and the detail that is in each drawing.   The level of complexity is within my skill set.   The line work is detailed but not so fine that I need to grab my magnifying lamp to work on 🙂

About the author

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.
