Nature: A Seasonal Coloring Book  Review

Nothing sells a book to me faster than a bunny on the front cover!  If the bunny has cute little friends like ducks, squirrels and foxes so much the better.    Nature books are always so relaxing and this one promised to bring a lovely look on nature without too many complicated details.

Cover & Layout

The card cover has a lovely cream background with colored printing of a gorgeous gree and animals on it.    Some of these cutte little animals form the frame on the back of the cover which contains the publisher’s blurb.   The card cover is very sturdy and has fold out flaps.     The back flap has a cutting line to cut out a little bookmark to use with your book.

Nature A Seasonal Coloring Book measures in at 25cm x 25cm.

Ancillary Pages

The front title page featurs two cute squirrels to color in.   This line art has also been included in the book for you to color sans text.   Sadly, the line art commences on the reverse of this page and there is nowhere to test your mediums without risking damaging a page.

Layout

Illustrations have been printed on both sides of the paper.  The paper is smooth, white and a medium quality.

All of the illustrations have been presented portrait style.

There are 32 double page scenes where the line art does merge to the spine of the book.    Atg the moment the book is a little stiff, but with some gently encouragement I thinkthe spine will loosen making it easier to color in this area.

The way that the book has been presented, with a detailed drawing on one side of several images and then a pattern using some elemnets on the facing page, means that you could sacrifice the pattern page if you wished to color with wet media on the focal page.

Nature: A Seasonal Coloring Book Images and Illustrations

There’s a touch of  sweetness and whimsy about these illustrations which are varied.    The artist has managed to include a number of pages where the focal point is animals.    You will find lovely birds,  deer, rabbits, ducks, fox, moth and bees featured among others.

The nature theme is included with natural elements in the background of  the animals pictures as well as full page scenes featuring flowers, fruits, mushrooms and leaves.

Line art in this book is black, crisp and very easy to see.    The line weight is medium making it easy for those with a visual impairment to see.   Although many of the illustrations contain a lot of detail in either the focal point ofthe image or the background, about half of the book has larger spaced elements to make it easy for colorists to enjoy.

About the author

coloringqueen

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.
